Web Browsers
Web Browsers - now here's a tough one.
The reality is Internet Explorer is the defacto standard - with more web traffic generate using this browser than any other. unfortunately at the same time although improving it is also one of the worst for W3 standards compliance. This results in many sites and pages that have been designed to display a certain way in IE that don't retain their format properly or have functionality errors in some of the other browsers available (despite their being more compliant to W3 Standards). These days most designers test for multiple browser and platform compliance - unfortunately many do not - this is why generally I use Internet Explorer 7 rather than any of the other options as my default web browser.
So from a usability and security standpoint what are some of the other browser options? Well here's a list - with one option that may surprise some PC users - Safari for Windows, despite still being in Beta test phases you can install the same great browser that Mac users have been loving for years.

Firefox 3 is released - too early to say much other than that preliminary investigation is suggesting I may actually adopt this new Firefox as my default browser - but much using and testing to be done first!
